Childress County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, arrange a release, post bond, or pull an official booking record. Direct record and status questions to the appropriate public office below.
Childress Record and Custody Paths
Choose the office by the kind of record needed. Childress County has no official public jail roster, booking-photo archive, or direct county arrest-log page. A city arrest report and a county booking record can be held by different custodians, so identify the agency, date range, record type, and any case or booking number in a written request.
Childress County Sheriff’s Office
The sheriff’s office requires records requests in writing. Email is the clearest starting point because the official county page lists a Northwest street suffix for mailed requests while the Sheriffs’ Association directory uses Northeast. Confirm the directional suffix before sending mail.

Phone: 940-937-2535
Fax: 940-937-2395
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Use the official sheriff page for the written-request directions. Request a defined record, such as a jail register, booking sheet, arrest report, photograph, release or transfer record, bond record, or current-custody confirmation. The office can explain whether a responsive record exists, is maintained, or is subject to an exception under the Texas Public Information Act.
Childress Police Department
For the city arrest side of an incident, use the police department’s official page and its open-records request form. The department does not publish an official daily arrest log, booking feed, mugshot page, or online roster. Ask whether an arrest led to county jail custody and whether the booking-related portion must be requested from the sheriff.

Current Custody and Notifications
The sheriff page links to the official Integrated Victim Services System. IVSS supports current-custody searches and notification requests using identifiers such as a name, jail ID, or permanent booking number. It is not a historical photo roster, it has no established booking-photo field, and a person released from custody may no longer appear.
District Court and County Records
For a district criminal case, disposition, court order, or cause-number question, the District Clerk is the appropriate listed contact. The county clerk online portal can be a useful lead, but the county warns that it is a public-service convenience rather than the official repository. Do not treat an incomplete index result as a current booking, warrant, or case outcome.

State, Federal, and Archive Records
For a person sentenced to state prison, start with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice offender-information page and use the TDCJ public-information process for state records. TDCJ custody is not the same as an original Childress County jail booking. Federal custody questions belong with the Bureau of Prisons locator, and immigration-detention questions belong with the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Historic state-corrections material may be addressed through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission’s convict-record resources, not by assuming a county jail photo has an archive copy.
